The majority of the houses in the Wash Park area were built between 1900 and 1940. In recent years there has been a movement to either scrape the original homes or ‘pop the top’ in an effort to build larger, more modern homes. With Wash Park being one of Denver’s more affluent neighborhoods, with the median income well in excess of $100,000, the quantity and quality of remodel or new builds is superior to many of the surrounding neighborhoods. The average home price in Wash Park is well above $425,000 and hasn’t been negatively affected by the recent housing slump.
