Many of you know that I am a mountain man. Well, maybe not to the Jeremiah Johnson extent. But I love the Colorado Rockies. I also sell real estate for a living and have enjoyed the luxury of working with many Buyers and Sellers of luxury homes in the mountains just West of Denver. My free time always finds me in the mountains. My favorite real estate stories are often based around homes I’ve sold in Golden, Evergreen, Morrison and my home town of Conifer. I live in the foothills, play here, love raising my boys here and share adventure and serenity alike with my lovely wife
here.
Don’t get me wrong: my business is built around finding the right answers for Buyers based on their wants and needs wherever that may take us– but I get a special lift when it looks like that “right answer” is going to be in one of the many spectacular homes overlooking Denver from the foothills!
Yesterday I had the luxury of working (insert dramatic pause here) With a client who was searching for a luxury home in the mountains of Golden, just west of Denver. As we toured through a list of homes they had scouted on my search site: Golden Mountain Homes I was just happy to be there! It was a spectacular January day with only a few, high clouds and temperatures in the 50’s! Frankly, I had trouble concentrating on the homes since the scenery was so mesmerizing. We considered homes in Lookout Mountain, Cody Park, Paradise Hills, throughout
Genesee and up the road in the luxury enclave of Spring Ranch, a captivating community with spectacular homes in a perfect mountain setting, even hosting it’s own resident herd of Elk . Spring Ranch is located just West of Genesee off of the El Rancho exit on I-70 (its dark blue on the map above). The whole time I pointed out little assets that these communities have, I was like a tourist recognizing a landmark for the first time. Though I’ve seen these landmarks hundreds of times. Even after twenty years; for a small town kid from New Hampshire—I never get enough of this stuff! Learn more about Evergreen Real Estate or jump straight to the search site of all Evergreen Homes For Sale or check out Conifer Homes For Sale, the next town South.
A few of the highlights of Spring Ranch and the other luxury communities in the Foothills of Golden:
1.) Downtown Denver is 18 Miles East of Genesee, Google estimates this as a 24 minute commute. Yet, it is a wonderful, beautiful setting in the mountains!
2.) Loveland Ski area is 40 miles West of Spring Ranch and Breckenridge is only 62 miles! Of personal interest to me: the Blue River one of Colorado’s premiere gold medal trout fisheries is less than an hour from here!
3.) Quick access to I-70 allows this serene mountain setting to be just a quick hop to all the amenities of the big city.
4.) Evergreen is just around the corner with a all of the major conveniences as well as my favorite bagel shop: The Bagelry.
If you are passionate about the mountains and the mountain activities like skiing, snow boarding, kayaking, fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking, deer, elk and the many other mountain animals, and generally all of things that people think of when they think of Colorado—but you need to commute to Denver, you owe it to yourself to check out these great communities. The Nearby mountain communities of Golden and Evergreen offer an impressive quality of life along with easy commutability. As a true “value add” real estate broker, I can be coaxed to share my top picks for the best single track mountain bike rides in and around Evergreen and Golden as part of my real estate services. Just send me an email or post a comment here…

Thanks for sharing Bob! It’s funny, I’ve been in Colorado 15 years, but I can never get enough information about the various mountain communities in the Colorado Front Range area.
Your description is a prime example of why it is so important to work with a Realtor who loves the mountains so much, and can share the wonderful and diverse traits that each of those communities share!

Bob, that’s a beautiful area, you’re fortunate to live and work there!

Tina, I agree. not a day goes by that I don’t feel extremely fortunate to call “work” showing exciting properties in one of the most beautiful places on earth!
Congratulations on your new listing at 2702 Tarpley Place – Paper Chase Farm and by the way, 5 most expensive properties in Atlanta are pretty impressive too! Great site!

I live in Wash Park in Denver and I’ve been thinking about getting closer to the ski areas. I’ll still have to commute to Denver. Sounds like Golden might be the ticket. Could you please tell me more about Spring Ranch?
Hi Perry,
Keep your eye out for an email from me, I just sent you some additional information as well as the link to http://www.BlueRoof.com so you can search all the homes in Spring Ranch and throughout the subdivisions in Golden. One tool I especially appreciate within blueroof.com is the ability to use the satellite image of a home for sale. Using this you can see where rock outcroppings, forest, meadows, etc. are in relation to each of the homes. Likewise, you may rule out some homes when you see that their proximity to I-70 or another home, road, etc… does not work for you. Good luck!

I love snowboarding. Snowboarding is the best. Let’s just hope that Global Warming will end. So we can save this sport.
Hi Gretchen, Thanks for the note. I was surpised you didn’t mention your web site http://www.GretchenBleiler.com. You should get together with my old friend Allison Gannet over the hills from you in Crested Butte. Although she is a two-planker she is one of the best female skiers anywhere and she is extremely active in the fight against global warming. Here’s a link to her web site if you two haven’t crossed paths yet! http://www.alisongannett.com/Alison_Gannett/Global_Warming/Global_Warming.html
