Athmar Park, in zip code 80223, is primarily dominated by single family homes in an urban setting. There are roughly 3,000 “housing units” in Athmar Park. Homes here were primarily built in the early 1950′s and priced from $68,900 up to about $165,000 but the bulk of homes for sale are in the $120,000 to $140,000 range. The majority of homes here are right around 1,000 square feet. There has been a great deal of market activity in the last six months in Athmar Park with nearly 60 sales during that period. Half of these sales were less than $100,000 and sales were heavily dominated by foreclosures and short sales . At the present time there are only 15 homes for sale– an indication that Athmar Park may be emerging from the sub-prime fall-out.
Huron Park at the heart of Athmar Park was recently visited by dozens of volunteers and Mayor Hickenlooper who planted about 200 trees in this lake park– home to Huron Lake. Living in Athmar Park is very convenient to just about everywhere in Denver. I just recently visited a client who works at a company based in Athmar Park and had my windshield replaced there too!
